BLHA Spring/Summer newsletter
Hello neighbors!
With spring in the air, schools will soon be coming to an end for the summer. Please be mindful of all pedestrians, especially children, and ensure that you obey the residential speed limit of 25 mph or less.
Please get out and meet your neighbors! Be neighborly to all new residents, by introducing yourself and help them to settle into their home. (Let them know about the BLHA Facebook page!). Yearly social events and important updates can be found on the BLHA home page: www.blhashelby.org and the Facebook page.
Spring is here!!! Hopefully the warm weather will follow soon. Time to spruce up the yard work and lawn care. Please remember to adhere to the Bannister Lake By-Laws, when it comes to maintaining your lawn.
If you are having any large event at your home, please be mindful of parking on one side of the street. The “No Parking” signs can be borrowed from Greg Gilbert (586) 945-5329.
Winter is finally behind us. Please do not forget to remove ALL orange reflector sticks for the snow removal from driveways and curbs.
If you or your guests decide to enjoy the Lakes this summer, swimming or fishing, please be careful and remember that homeowners are responsible for the safety of their guests.
Fishing in the lakes is catch-and-release only. The bass are an important part of the lakes’ ecosystems and should be treated with care and returned to the water as soon as possible.
No one is authorized to use anyone’s back yard as access to the Lake if they are not authorized by the Homeowner. Please be respectful of homeowner’s properties.
PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE "DUCKS and GEESE" …. Try to chase them away so that they do not take up residence in the neighborhood.
Help keep your neighborhood beautiful! Please ensure that you are picking up after your dog(s). Please be mindful of the blowing of debris in other neighbors’ yards. Remember to be neighborly when you see trash bins blowing or laying out in the streets.
Remember there are no building or changes made to exterior of homes without the BLHA approval. (Please see by-laws for guidance). Applications for exterior changes can be found at www.blhashelby.org/importantdocs
We're excited to welcome new residents to Bannister Lakes! If you're new to our community, please reach out to a board member so we can officially welcome you. Please visit our BLHA Facebook page for all communities’ activities and events. You can always reach out to any BLHA board members. We are always looking for volunteers for BLHA, subcommittees within the subdivision. Be safe and enjoy the upcoming spring and summer. https://www.blhashelby.org/board
